Primary Pulmonary Hypertension, or PPH, is a rare disorder of the lungs in which the blood pressure in the pulmonary artery – which carries oxygen-poor blood from the heart's right ventricle to the lungs – reaches dangerously high levels. Side effects from defective drugs such as fen-phen and the Orho Evra birth control patch have been shown to cause PPH.
